Fiona Orford

Education: junior guildhall school of music and drama, Royal College of Music, royal academy of music
Age Range: 7 and Up

Fiona was awarded a masters degree from the Royal Academy of Music in 2010, having already completed her undergraduate studies at the Royal College of Music. She now pursues a busy professional career, performing in orchestras, playing in chamber groups and teaching.
In 2009 fiona started playing with Sir John Eliot Gardiner’s period orchestras, the English baroque soloists and Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique. Fiona performs regularly with other period ensembles in the UK and abroard. Currently finishing a season at Garsington opera with English concert and the Grange festival with the sixteen. Fiona will then perform a staged version of Mozart requiem on the basset horn with Pygmalion Orchestre at the proms and all over Europe having performed the concert version in Vienna and Brussels last year.

Fiona’s studies were on the modern clarinet and her work continues on these, playing regularly with Birmingham Royal Ballet, London Concert Orchestra and BBC symphony orchestra. She enjoys participating in chamber music ensembles such as Ensemble Marsyas, Boxwood and brass and of course the Vauxhall band playing at Wigmore Hall and st johns smith square.

Future engagements she looks forward to next year is a tour of Beethoven symphonies to Asia and another season at the Opera Comique with Pygmalion Orchestre.
