Questions about Our Teachers

What do I need for an online music lesson?
    • To get the best experience, we recommend:
    • A stable internet connection (minimum 10 Mbps)
    • A laptop, tablet, or desktop computer with webcam and microphone
    • Headphones (optional, but helpful)
    • Your instrument set up and tuned before the lesson begins
    • A quiet, well-lit space

Lessons are conducted over LessonSpace. You will receive a secure meeting link before each lesson.

  • First, check your email’s spam or promotions folder.
  • Log in to your Student Portal to view your upcoming lessons and access the direct link.
  • If you’re still having trouble, contact our Support Centre.
    • Refresh your page and check your browser/device settings.
    • Make sure your camera and microphone are enabled.
    • Test your audio/video setup in settings before the lesson.
    • Restart your device if needed.
    • Move closer to your Wi-Fi router.
    • Ask others in your home to reduce heavy internet use (e.g., no streaming/downloads).
    • Switch to a wired Ethernet connection if possible.
    • Temporarily turn off your video to preserve audio quality during the lesson.

Yes, but a laptop or desktop is preferable for sound quality and ease of communication. If you’re using a mobile device:

    • Use a stand to keep your camera steady and your hands free.
    • Ensure it’s fully charged or plugged in during the lesson.
    • Enable “Original Sound” in the lesson platform settings to improve clarity.
    • Turn off background noise suppression.
    • Use an external microphone if possible for better sound quality.
