Dan Bosinceanu

Age Range: 8 and Up

Dan is a berkshire-based bassoonist and educator. He studied at trinity laban conservatoire of music and dance, where he was awarded the harold clarke woodwind competition, the vernon elliot bassoon prize, and a royal philharmonic society sir john barbirolli foundation scholarship. He went on to complete a master of arts at the royal academy of music, studying with john orford and amy harman. Dan has performed with a wide range of orchestras in the uk and internationally. During his training, he took part in side-by-side projects with ensembles such as the bbc symphony orchestra, philharmonia orchestra, welsh national opera, and bournemouth symphony orchestra. From 2018 to 2020, he served as co-principal bassoon of the franz schubert filharmonia in spain, performing at leading venues including palau de la música catalana (barcelona), auditorio nacional (madrid), and palacio euskalduna (bilbao), and also toured asia with the czech symphony orchestra. As an educator, dan brings over seven years of teaching experience. He currently teaches woodwind and piano at the berkshire music trust, and is a bassoon teacher at sunningdale school. He has previously held teaching posts at queen anne’s school, the oratory school, and reading blue coat school. In addition to his regular teaching, he has been invited to give masterclasses at trinity laban conservatoire, and continue to support inclusive music education through outreach and mentorship to support inclusive music education through outreach and mentorship.
