Samantha Kerby

Samantha studied recorder, flute, and piano at Chetham’s School of Music and the Royal Academy of Music, where she reached the finals of the BBC Young Musician competition. On leaving the Academy, Samantha worked for many years as Director of Music in a number of international schools in Kenya. In the UK, Samantha has been Director of Music at The Prebendal School (Chichester Cathedral School), Beeston Hall School, Norfolk, and St Hugh’s Prep School, Lincolnshire.

Samantha currently teaches piano, flute, recorder, clarinet, and saxophone at The Grantham International Prep School (where she also teaches class music) and Witham Hall School. She has also been the rehearsal pianist of Grantham Operatic Society since 2017 and made her debut as Musical Director in 2022. Shows that Sam has been the MD for include Crazy for You, Me and My Girl (which won the ‘Best Musical’ award at the NODA East Midlands Amateur Theatre Awards in 2023), The Addams Family, and Kiss Me, Kate.
