Charys Green
Charys is an accomplished clarinetist and passionate educator with over two decades of experience performing and teaching at the highest levels. A graduate of both the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music, Charys has built a distinguished freelance career, performing with many of the UK’s leading orchestras including the Royal Opera House, BBC Symphony Orchestra, and London Philharmonic Orchestra. Her versatility as a performer has led her to the recording studio for major film soundtracks such as Mission: Impossible 7, Jurassic world rebirth, Paddington 2, Snow White, and Alien: romulus. She has also toured internationally, including a world tour with Sting, performing as a guest soloist in over 90 concerts. Her concerto appearances include performances with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Philharmonia.
Alongside her dynamic performance career, Charys has always been deeply committed to music education. She has taught students of all ages and abilities- from young beginners to conservatoire-level musicians. She currently serves as head of wind at Bishop’s Stortford College, a prestigious independent school, where she leads ensembles, teaches small group classes, and offers inspiring one-to-one lessons tailored to each student’s goals and needs. In recognition of her exceptional contribution to music and music education, Charys was awarded an associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) in 2024—an honour reserved for alumni who have made a significant impact in their field. Charys brings energy, insight, and a wealth of experience to her teaching. Whether you’re picking up the clarinet for the first time or preparing for a professional audition, her lessons are supportive, engaging, and rooted in a lifelong love for music
