Luke is an accomplished flautist with a distinguished career spanning orchestral, theatre, chamber, and solo performance. His extensive work in London’s West End includes serving as flute chair for Enter The Guardsman at the Donmar warehouse (1997) and The Baker’s Wife at the phoenix theatre (1989–90), as well as holding the position of first deputy for Chess (1986–89) and regular deputy for Sunset Boulevard.


As a chamber and solo artist, Luke has performed with the Thames Chamber Orchestra at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Chamber Academy Ensemble (Denmark), and the Cirrus Ensemble at the Hurstpierpoint & Shoreham by sea and Lancing festivals. He has premiered two works for solo flute and orchestra by François Glorieux with the National Symphony Orchestra at Brussels’ palais des beaux arts, and has performed concertos at the Entrecasteaux festival in Provence. His discography includes recordings of Mozart’s flute quartets in C and D with the Cirrus Ensemble.
Luke is also a member of the flute and percussion duo Panavanti, known for its vibrant and eclectic programming.


He studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, completing the advanced solo studies course. His principal teachers included Edward Beckett, with additional private study under the legendary William Bennett and Peter Lloyd. He also studied baroque flute with Stephen Preston and participated in masterclasses with Marcel Moyse and Alain Marion.
