Neil Shewan
Neil Shewan is an accomplished french horn player and dedicated educator, currently holding teaching positions at both the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. With a rich and varied performing career, Neil has held the position of 3rd horn with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales for over 15 years and 2nd horn with The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Neil’s freelance work spans an impressive range of ensembles and styles. He has performed with many of the UK’s leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Hallé Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, and The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. His versatility as a performer has also seen him involved in numerous film scores and West End productions, showcasing his adaptability and artistry across genres.
In addition to his performance work, Neil is a committed educator and has been a Trinity College London examiner since 2019. He brings a wealth of professional experience to his teaching and examining roles, nurturing the next generation of horn players with insight and enthusiasm
