Tim Smedley

Tim is Head of Chamber Music and cello tutor at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, also teaching at Chetham’s School of Music. He performs internationally on modern and period instruments, frequently as principal cellist with Northern Chamber Orchestra and others. Tim has recorded with leading early music ensembles and teaches widely, including masterclasses in China and the UK. He is a former Chetham’s and RNCM student and has held teaching posts at several prestigious institutions.

Connie Tanner

Connie studied at the royal academy of music in london, graduating in 2000 with her teaching licentiate (lram). She held the post of associate principal bassoon with rte national symphony orchestra of ireland in dublin for 5 years before returning to the uk in 2013 and is now regarded as one of the uk’s top freelance bassoonists.

One of the uk’s finest solo & busiest session guitar players, jamie has toured every corner of the world, either as a soloist or playing live & recording with countless well known artists.

Elinor Moran

Elinor is a versatile soprano and award-winning graduate of Chetham’s and the Guildhall School of Music, recently returned from a world tour as a soloist with André Rieu.She is a sought-after performer, educator, and vocal coach, known for her operatic roles, concert work, and involvement with major UK opera and music education organizations.

Bob Farley

Robert is an accomplished trumpeter and professor at the Royal Academy of Music and Trinity Laban, with a notable career as principal trumpet for top orchestras like the Philharmonia and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

Paul Saunders

By successfully adding saxophones and flutes to his portfolio Paul has become one of the most versatile woodwind players on the London scene. Previous West End shows include: Billy Elliot, Guys and Dolls, Les Misérables, The Producers, Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Full Monty, My Fair Lady, Ghost, Chicago, Top Hat and many more… Paul’s current post is the clarinet chair on the West End production of Wicked, a post he has held since the show opened in 2006. As the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire’s multi-instrumental consultant, Paul’s role is two- fold.

Andrew is a renowned trombonist, conductor, and educator with an international career, holding principal positions with leading UK orchestras and currently directing the NSO Symphony Orchestra in Abu Dhabi.

Emma Williams

I am a freelance flautist and Royal College of Music graduate with over 20 years’ experience performing with leading ensembles including the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Apartment House. Alongside my playing career, I teach yoga, breathwork, and mindset for musicians at the Royal Academy of Music and lead specialist workshops at top conservatoires. Through Beyond the Stave, I offer tailored support for injury prevention, performance anxiety, and well-being. From July 2026, I will also offer physiotherapy assessment and treatment for musicians.

Katie Pryce

Katie is a versatile French horn player, singer, songwriter, and musical director who moved to Melbourne in 2017 after a successful London career spanning West End shows, major orchestras, and jazz venues like Ronnie Scott’s. She has performed and recorded with artists such as Snarky Puppy, Burt Bacharach, Elton John, and Kanye West. A passionate educator, Katie has led music projects in schools, prisons, and conservatoires, always aiming to make music accessible, fun, and empowering. She teaches French horn (classical and jazz) and voice across a wide range of styles from classical to pop and musical theatre.
