Ben Havinden

Born in London into a family of musicians, Ben attended the Purcell School and Royal College of Music in London studying with principal bass of the Philharmonia orchestra Neil Tarlton. After leaving the RCM he attended a month long studio course in Canada to study with internationally renowned bass virtuoso Gary Karr. He joined the orchestra of Welsh National Opera for 6 years in 2018 and has since performed with a variety of ensembles including the London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Bergen Philharmonic in Norway. As a teacher he has guest taught at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and recently gave a masterclass at Oklahoma City University in the USA.
