Bryony Moody

Bryony began learning the cello with Muriel Daniels whilst a chorister at Salisbury cathedral and went on to study with Sue Lowe whilst at the University of Leeds. Further studies took her to the Conservatoire de Strasbourg with Frank Van Lamsweerde. Over her years of studying, she participated in masterclasses with Louise Hopkins, Pierre Doumenge, Alexander Baille and Adrian Brendel.

Bryony enjoys a varied playing career, performing in chamber groups, orchestras, as a session player and soloist. Bryony plays with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, Westminster Chamber Orchestra, London Choral Sinfonia, The Faust Chamber Orchestra, La Folia, the London Contemporary Orchestra, London Symphonic Rock Orchestra, London Electronic Orchestra, Orchestra Vitae and Bristol Ensemble. As a chamber musician, she is a member of the Edington Ensemble, Fendt Ensemble and Quattro String Quartet. She regularly performs and records for artists, including Franc Moody, Horus Records, Craig David, Blonde, Calum Scott, Output Input, Olivia Nelson, George Ezra, Skinshape, Becky Hill and Ihus. Bryony currently teaches cello at Lambrook prep school and Shrewsbury house school, and coaches on West of England Youth Orchestra courses. Bryony plays an English cello in the style of Fendt, made for A&J  Betts circa 1845.
